Sometimes, a few words are all it takes to describe a relationship, a collaboration, or a communication. After nearly two years of experience in a coach-athlete relationship, I can say with certainty that I can only think of positive signs. The most important thing is that trust was built. Every single one of my workouts had a purpose and a result. My fatigue always had an explanation. My disappointment always had support. My hard work always paid off. My questions always had an answer. No matter how many years someone has been running or how much experience they have, they need someone to look out for them and guide them. It is neither shameful nor demeaning. One thing I’ve kept in mind from your words is that even for your own races, you have someone coaching you. I certainly hope it's someone like you, because not all coaches are the same!!
With respect and love, your friend,
